How to Educate Young Hockey Players Throughout a Season

Sports Dietitians can work at 3 levels to improve sports nutrition habits. Level 1 is to provide resources such as a hockey sports nutrition guide; Level 2 is to provide group services such as a group nutrition session; and Level 3 is to provide individual nutrient recommendations and food prescriptions. Be careful when setting up level 2 activities as some research has shown that large group settings are not effective. Frequent, small group sessions are key to educating young hockey players. Use videos such as this one to present information snippets to your hockey players.
